Weekend Preview: *Fart*

Happy Labor Day weekend! What’s on tap? A whole bunch of crap! Enjoy!

Apollo 18: Astronauts, horror, something, something something, formulaic horror movie

Rotten Tomatoes: 50%

Uninformed Commentary: The Rotten Tomatoes score is skewed upwards somewhat by the fact that there aren’t a lot of reviews. In any case, this looks like garbage and the negative reviews are really scathing:

[N]ot scary. It’s not intense. It’s not surprising. It’s supposed to be all these things and fails completely… It doesn’t even work on the limited scale of its own merits. – MaryAnn Johanson, Flick Filospher

Tell us how you really feel…

No final das contas, até mesmo os dois personagens principais se tornam apenas caricaturas de homens descontrolados e em perigo, abandonando qualquer tentativa de tridimensionalidade. – Pablo Villaca, Cinema em Cena

What he said.

A Good Old Fashioned Orgy: Jason Sudeikis has one last weekend in his parent’s summer home so he has an orgy

Rotten Tomatoes: 30%

Uninformed Commentary: This looks like it has potential for Dinner For Schmucks levels of suck. True fact, it is mandated that at least 90% of comedies in any given year must have at least one of the “Jasons” (Sudeikis or Bateman)

Shark Night 3D: I’m not even going to bother, you know what this is about

Rotten Tomatoes: 30%

Uninformed Commentary: Big, wet, repeated fart noises, over and over

The Debt: Espionage thriller following the past and present of three former Mossad agents

Rotten Tomatoes: 77%

Uninformed Commentary: The consensus is that this is a good movie that falls just short of being great. I’m not a huge fan of espionage thrillers like this, but compared to the other debris floating around theaters these days, it looks somewhat appealing.

You know the drill, here’s your Breaking Bad promo:

Basically, I can’t wait for new seasons to start premiering later this month

Real, Actual, Football! The NFL season doesn’t start until next week, but we have College Football to tide us over until then. The best match-ups this Saturday include No.3 Oregon at No. 4 LSU and No.5 Boise State at No. 19 Georgia, both at 8PM EST. My alma mater Boston College plays Northwestern at Noon in a meeting of middle of the road teams in middle of the road conferences.
