YES, YES YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!

I was about to start typing out my weekend recap, when I came across this little slice of heaven.

The Bluth family is back.

In what can only be described in Tobias Funke-esque terms as “joyous news,” Mitch Hurwitz, creator of “Arrested Development,” announced Sunday that new episodes of the beloved Fox series will be made, along with a long-buzzed-about movie.

The New York Times reports that Hurtwitz — who was joined by all the members of the cast at an “Arrested Development” reunion, held Sunday during the New Yorker Festival — plans to make nine or 10 new episodes. Those episodes will be shot next summer, to be followed by production of the film. The studio backing the project has not yet been identified, nor is it clear which network will broadcast those episodes, which will serve as a prelude to the story told in the movie. Release dates for the episodes and the motion picture also have not been specified.

MORE ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT! I haven’t been this happy since… ever! True I’m generally a miserable person, defined primarily by my bitterness and moroseness, but today I feel like singing a happy song, picking flowers, and playing with puppies and babies.

I know that I probably shouldn’t get my hopes up too much since an Arrested Development movie has been rumored for years now, but this time it actually seems like it might be a reality:

“I’m peeing with @batemanjason at the moment … and we can confirm that we are going to make new AD eps and a movie,” Arnettt tweeted.

Bateman chimed in: “It’s true. We will do 10 episodes and the movie. Probably shoot them all together next summer for a release in early ‘13. VERY excited!”

Now if you’ll excuse me I need to go to the bathroom, for 20 minutes. Don’t worry, I’m just checking the faucet, I think the sink is leaky, just don’t come in. *grabs box of tissues, slinks off*
