Weekend Preview: Woof

Welcome to fall, where movies stop trying to be even remotely interesting. Let’s take a look at what you will (or won’t) be watching this weekend.

Movies

Paranormal Activity 3: You already know what this is about.

Rotten Tomatoes: 76%

Uninformed Commentary: Was it really necessary to make another Paranormal Activity? The first one was barely scary and found footage stopped being a novel idea after The Blair Witch Project. Critics like this for whatever reason, but I’m just going to assume that it sucks and stay away. The fact that it’s directed by the same people as Catfish which had the least shocking shock ending in movie history isn’t making me any more interested.

The Three Musketeers: Milla Jovovich  Milla Jovovich  Milla Jovovich  Milla Jovovich  Milla Jovovich  Milla Jovovich  Milla Jovovich  Milla Jovovich  Milla Jovovich  Milla Jovovich  Milla Jovovich

Rotten Tomatoes: 23%

Uninformed Commentary: Sh*tty Paul Anderson, best known for making 8,000 Resident Evil movies, directs the 8000th adaptation of The Three Musketeers, this time with flying pirate ship zeppelins, because why the f*ck not, you’ll watch it anyway. Starring Ray Winstone, Milla Jovovich, and that annoying kid who’s in a bunch of movies these days. Anyone who pays  to see this should be forcibly sterilized.

Johnny English Reborn: Mr. Bean falling down for 2 hours.

Rotten Tomatoes: 36%

Uninformed Commentary: Repeat after me, Rowan Atkinson isn’t funny.

TeeVee

I have to admit that I have some catching up to do as I haven’t watched the latest episodes of Boarwalk Empire or The Walking Dead. That said, both shows are enjoyable even on their worst says so you can’t go wrong with that. Dexter has made a bit of a comeback this season after slipping a bit after season 3, but if you have both HBO and Showtime and are looking for something to watch on Sunday night, I’d go with Boardwalk Empire, Steve Buschemi is bad ass.

Sports

The best Saturday matchups are 20. Auburn @ 1. LSU and 6. Wisconsin @ 16. Mich. St.

NFL Picks found here.

Enjoy the weekend.
