‘Red Tails’ Has an Interesting Cast
Embedded is the trailer for Red Tails, an upcoming movie about the Tuskeegee airmen. There’s nothing especially funny about the trailer and it actually looks like a movie that I would be willing to spend $12 to see. What tickled me a bit was the cast:
It stars Cuba Gooding Jr, Terrence Howard, Nate Parker, David Oyelowo, Michael B. Jordan, Ne-Yo, Elijah Kelley and Bryan Cranston. Screenplay is by John Ridley (Undercover Brother, Barbershop) and Aaron McGruder (The Boondocks).
Bryan Cranston as a racist general? I know he’s become kind of a sinister villain on Breaking Bad, but I still can’t stop thinking of Bryan Cranston as Malcolm’s dad. Also interesting is that two veteran comedy writers penned the script. The trailer implies that the film may be slightly humorous, but it’s still an interesting little tidbit. And yes, this is my way of procrastinating from writing about Joe Paterno.
